Steve Marasco

Steve Marasco is currently the head of Enterprise Modeling at USAA. In his role Steve manages a department composed of highly skilled modelers and data scientists who develop business solutions that use predictive algorithms as a core component. Steve has nearly two decades of experience performing analytics or leading analytical teams in the financial services industry spanning a wide range of applications including marketing modeling and credit modeling & forecasting. Steve also has extensive experience in Risk Management that includes executive roles in Risk where he has developed and implemented Risk Appetite frameworks, lead Stress Testing analytics, and developed model risk management programs. Prior to joining USAA, Steve was VP, Credit Policy & Analysis at HSBC North America where he was responsible for leading the Basel II analytics initiative for retail banking and helped to develop an Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process, Economic Capital estimation, and a Risk Appetite framework. Steve holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Florida.
