8:35 AM - 9:15 AM Developing and Implementing an Analytics Roadmap

Tamer Soliman, VP, Data Analytics , Assurant, Inc.
Analytics teams are asked to develop roadmap for their companies, what is the right approach to develop a roadmap? How can we build a roadmap that has the data and IT support? How do we develop a right operation model for analytics teams to work and interact with other departments? The answer depends on tactical and strategic approaches to four key areas: Business, Analytics, Data and People.

Join us in this interactive session as we discuss some real examples of analytics roadmaps, some guiding principles in roadmap development, such as:
•Roadmap is based on an analytics vision for the future and the benefit of knowing what analytics to prioritize
•How to integrate a flexible technology solution to support an analytics vision
•Roadmap phases should not stop ongoing initiatives, rather provide a methodical approach to transforming the analytics culture
•Roadmap implementation should be consistently re-visited as projects are initiated and progress is measured

10:35 AM - 11:15 AM Developing Strength in Business-Analytics Alignment

JP Snow, Vice President of Institutional Analytics and Client Loyalty, Charles Schwab
An organization’s strength in analytics capabilities alone is insufficient for seeing the investment pay off. It’s critical that the analytic tools and talent be deployed for maximum alignment with business needs. Companies can maximize the business impact resulting from their analytics by:

•Aligning their analytics teams directly to specific business groups and priority programs
•Establishing clear roles in the data ecosystem, including sourcing, provisioning, application and governance
•Organizing analysis teams with the right blend of specialized skills – both technical and soft skills
•Measuring analytic teams’ effectiveness both qualitatively and quantitatively

This interactive session will include a case study, general principles of alignment, and open discussion.
